Terms of Service
Last updated 29 October 2026
The short version: Frenemies is free. Play fair, pick a name you'd be happy for anyone to see, and don't try to break the game or use it to hurt anyone. We'll do our best to keep it running, but it comes as it is.
These terms are an agreement between you and Youssef Lasheen ("we", "us"), who makes and runs Frenemies: the game at play.frenemi.es, its Android and iOS apps, and the website frenemi.es. By playing Frenemies, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't play.
Who can play
Frenemies is for everyone. If you are a child, ask a parent or guardian before playing, and before saving your account with Google or Apple. If you are under the age at which you can agree to terms like these where you live, your parent or guardian agrees to them for you.
Your account
The app makes an account for you when you first open it, which stays on your device. If you lose the device or clear the app's data before saving your account with Google or Apple, the account is lost, and we can't get it back. You're responsible for what happens on your account, so keep your device and your Google or Apple account safe.
You can delete your account at any time, as the Privacy Policy explains.
Playing fair
Frenemies is for having fun with other people. When you play, don't:
- choose a name, or play words, meant to insult, harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone, or that are sexual, hateful or illegal;
- pretend to be someone else;
- cheat with bots, scripts or modified apps, or exploit bugs to win;
- try to get into other players' accounts, or into our server, its data or its code where it isn't meant to be reached;
- overload, attack or disrupt the game, or collect data about other players;
- use Frenemies for anything illegal, or to sell or advertise anything.
If you find a bug or a security problem, please tell us at info@frenemi.es instead of using it.
We may change a name, remove a player from a room, or suspend or delete an account that breaks these rules, with or without warning.
What you put in the game
Your name, avatar, votes and words are yours. You let us store them and show them to the other players in your rooms and in their history, as running the game needs, for as long as we keep them under the Privacy Policy.
What belongs to us
Frenemies, its name, look, games, word lists and code belong to us. We let you use the app and the game for your own fun, not to copy, sell or build another service from them. The games are inspired by classic party and word games; Frenemies isn't affiliated with or endorsed by anyone else who makes them.
The game can change
Frenemies is free and made by one person. We may add, change or remove games and features, ask you to update the app, or stop running Frenemies, at any time. We'll try to give notice of big changes, but we can't promise that the game will always be available, without bugs, or that your account, scores or history will last forever.
No warranty
Frenemies is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, scores or friendships, arising from Frenemies. Since the game is free, our total liability to you for anything to do with it is limited to zero, or the smallest amount the law where you live permits. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the law where you live gives you and that can't be waived.
App stores
If you got the app from the Apple App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple has no duty to support the app. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as third-party beneficiaries. Google Play and Apple's own terms also apply when you use their stores.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change matters. If you keep playing after that, you agree to the new terms.
